Overview
Much More Than Kegels: Empowering Nurse Practitioners with Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Knowledge: This educational initiative aims to equip nurse practitioners with comprehensive understanding of pelvic floor physical therapy, enabling them to employ simple screening techniques for appropriate and timely referrals. By fostering awareness, our goal is to mitigate unnecessary surgeries and medical interventions, thus enhancing patient outcomes.
Testicular Cancer: The Down and Dirty to Encourage Testicular Self Exams: Testicular cancer is a rare malignancy that occurs in approximately 5% of all urological tumors [1]. Approximately nine thousand cases will be diagnosed in 2023 [2]. Most patients seek medical attention because they find a painless mass or swollen testicle. But how often are the male population checking themselves? How long after an abnormal finding is found during a self testicular exam is medical attention sought? The importance of testicular self exams has gone on the wayside given many other medical concerns in the US today. This presentation will discuss pathophysiology, epidemiology, and practice essentials to enhance the male population’s educational resources on the importance of performing testicular self exams.
